Island Soundscape
Exhibition

Contents

Island Soundscape is an immersive journey into the auditory soul of Taiwan—an exploration and reimagining of the island’s diverse acoustic landscapes, transformed into a contemporary interplay of sound and light.

In this collage-like sound theater, sound becomes a walkable landscape. Guided by spheres of light, visitors trace Taiwan’s acoustic memories—birds in the forest, waves on the shore, wind through rice paddies, the din of street corners and temple festivals. Inspired by Taiwan’s endemic species, artists merge mythical beasts with spatial sound to create mystical “sound totems”—symbols of Taiwan’s hybrid cultural spirit, seen through the lens of sound. This is an experience of “believing in life,” where sound captures the passage of time and holds our deepest memories and emotions. Close your eyes to hear the island’s memory; open them to feel the sacred spirit of Taiwan.
